"Like a process of transmutation, unrecognizable
shapes, abstract representations of internal landscapes, unconscious structures not based upon pre–conceived ideas propel my work in unexpected directions. An improvisational piece provokes impulses, which drive me to develop clarity from chaos. A dialogue with the painting ensues and alternative methods of applying and texturing paint are used. Putting down, lifting, covering, hiding so only a glimmer of what’s underneath comes through. Traces and remnants linger submerged as the piece nears completion.
Ultimately, the work is an exploration of the higher Self via the collective unconscious filtered through the unique constellation which makes up the painter. The final product is this collaborative journey of the collective of artists of today and yesterday and the creative Spirit."
